MacArthur Community Working Group Meeting #2

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, DCPS hosted a virtual Community Working Group (CWG) meeting for MacArthur High School. The group completed a school visioning activity, learned about the elements of a comprehensive DCPS High School, and heard from DCPS content experts about specialized curriculum available for Macarthur HS. The presentation deck (Spanish version), school visioning responses, and meeting recording are now available.

MacArthur Traffic Meeting – Recap

On Tuesday, June 21 2022, DCPS hosted a virtual meeting to address traffic concerns related to the opening of MacArthur Boulevard HS and Foxhall ES. Results from an initial traffic study of the surrounding intersections were shared with the public, and DCPS was joined by DDOT and WMATA representatives as they discussed existing public transportation options and cycling infrastructure. A primary goal of the meeting was to solicit community feedback to inform next steps; a document detailing that feedback can be found here (Spanish version). Save the Date: MacArthur High School Traffic Meeting

Join DCPS on June 21, 2022 at 6 pm for a virtual community meeting about MacArthur HS focused on traffic. This meeting will review findings of the recently concluded traffic study and other transportation implications associated with the opening of MacArthur HS. This meeting is open to the public.

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, DCPS hosted a virtual Community Working Group (CWG) meeting for MacArthur High School, the first in a series of meetings about planning and engagement for the new school. The group engaged in conversation that included the roles and responsibilities of CWG members, the announced phase-in policies for MacArthur HS, and design and construction plans. MacArthur High School Information Session: Materials and FAQ

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, DCPS hosted a virtual information session on MacArthur High School to provide context on past engagement, review key project information, and preview upcoming engagement. More than 200 individuals attended and asked questions on topics including academics, extracurricular activities, enrollment, and traffic. Following the meeting, DCPS developed an FAQ document to respond to the most common questions.
